First step in SPIRITUAL EXPEDITION
Human life is best among all living forms, as our soul can attain MUKTHI or MOKSHA in this life.
To reach pinnacle, we need to identify our GURU, who can guide us from MAYA(existing world) and lead us to salvation.
Spiritual journey is divine, we should start it with our own interest, so we can find reason for our existence and find ways to unify in GOD
Now questions may arise, am i ready, how long do i need to do it, what if i get distracted, who can help me, will i be able to do it and many more
The answer is absolutely YES, have faith in GURU, believe in yourself, we can definitely attain SACHIDANANDA
First and foremost thing to start with:
Remove ‘I’ from your mind. ( I is the root cause of all negative emotions)
Now our mind becomes purer and lighter and helps to gain more Gynana
Start following below points..
1. Identify your ISHTA.(whom you feel epitome) you can express all your feelings with ISHTA.
2. Make sure you spend some quality time daily in ideal place to meditate and introspect. Recollect what you have gone through in the day, where you haven’t with hold your emotions. Visualise same scenario and try to enact until you do it right. This way, you will never repeat same mistake again and
slowly gets depart from MAYA( negative emotions)
3. Practice or chant MANTRA. Mantra is like an anchor, it will protect you and brings you back every time you get lost in MAYA(Worldly Pleasures). Mantra will help you to reach ISHTA.
4. Offer holy prayers. Prayer will definitely make your wishes(good ones) come true.
5. Read spiritual books or hear/attend lectures to gain knowledge.
Initially our CHITTA(mind) will not allow us to concentrate or continue doing ‘above said things’ for long time. It tries to restrain us by showing lame excuses(family, work, etc are priority in life). Don’t get trapped, think of your aim, have faith in GURU, follow above process again & again until your mind & heart agree to same.
Talk to other people who are on same journey, sharing experiences will open new windows and give us new insights.
Practice regularly, have patience... results will follow.

Fantastic writeup.! The first sentence is the rock solid foundation of spiritual life. Each spiritual aspirant needs this conviction: our soul can attain Mukti/Moksha in this very life. Swami Vivekananda will be so happy to hear this statement..!
ReplyDeleteHere are some of my thoughts.
- No spiritual progress can be made without a Guru (except in very rare of cases). Guru chooses us but initially it may appear to the aspirant that he/she has chosen his/her guru. Guru is Satchidananda Brahman, no different from Brahma, Vishnu or Maheshwara.
Mantra Guru/Diksha Guru is considered "The Guru" in one's life. One can have one or more "upaguru". It may so happen that access and personal time with Gurudev is not available to obtain answers to specific questions, for specific instructions etc., because either Gurudev is not in his gross body or not available in the location or time constraint is there. In that case, one can have one or more upaguru(s). Upaguru is a venerable soul who compassionately guides the seeker by answering questions, clearing doubts and imparts instructions which is on behalf of Guru.
- The conviction and steadfastness mentioned above:....
ReplyDelete"have faith in GURU, believe in yourself, we can definitely attain SACHIDANANDA" ...
... is what is required for fruition of spiritual progress.
One should not give in to frustration, disappointment, dejection, depression and negativism.
Setting up fixed times for one's japa and meditation is very necessary for spiritual life. After practising for some time, mind automatically becomes indrawn and meditative at that particular time. This is how samskara gets created. Spiritual life is building spiritual samskaras which helps to negate/eradicate the worldly samskaras.
ReplyDelete- Steadfastness leads to Nishtha and Nishtha leads to enlightenment (Hafiz's story).
